This blog post is your battle plan; your plan of action for the school year a head. Tomorrow is the big day for me. I don't know if you have already gone back, but even so, I hope you use this post to guide you.
The reason I'm creating this "battle plan", is because I'm in dire need of a fresh start. Yes, it may all sound a tad bit over dramatic, but its occurred to me that I only have two years left of school I don't want to waste my time.
This will be made up of three sections; Mindset, Friendship and Inspiration. If one of these doesn't interest you of course you can skip it, but I really hope you read them all!
I'm going to start by saying that you should not look at school of just a place of studying. Of course, you should aim to pass your A-Levels, GCSEs, SATs, whatever exams you're sitting, and of course you should want to learn things at school, but possibly my best advice to you is that these however many years you have left at school are going to be the last years that you don't have to worry about paying bills, starting a career or finding somewhere to live. make the most of it! Live in the moment! Whenever you're feeling stressed go for walk and take in the world; go somewhere in school, with your friends, where no one will find you and spend some time talking and laughing; on weekends go on adventures and explore new places with your friends. Make memories.
IN SHORT; IF YOU COME OUT OF SCHOOL WITH ONLY GRADES, YOU HAVE WASTED YOUR TIME.
YOU'RE ONLY GIVEN ONE LIFE, DON'T WASTE 14 YEARS OF IT BEING SOMEWHERE YOU DON'T WANT TO BE, DOING SOMETHING YOU DON'T WANT TO DO!
This past year of school, I think the main lesson I've learnt is that a few very good friends will always be a better option than loads of friends that you can't be sure of. I've had multiple different friendship groups in the five years I've been at secondary school, but over time some of them began to show their true colours and I realised that their just a vehicle for negativity. Others have tried to make me chose between them and other friends. Now I have a good few friends that I know I can count on and that feeling is worth so much more than the happiness I ever felt with those other fake friends.
One fake friend can do more damage than five enemies. I know you hear this all the time but it's true; you become the people you surround yourself with.
I know it's scary letting go of friends, because no one wants to be on their own, but is it really worth staying with them if they hold back the real you? You never know, better friends may be just around the corner!
So this year, promise me you'll clear you're life of people who put you down to make themselves feel better; people who seem to be a magnet for negativity; people who are prone to create drama and stir things. I did, and honestly I'm happier than ever!
Feel free to be inspired...
Yours sincerEly x
