If right now you've found yourself in a rut or you're just bored, then I believe there is no better way to shake things up a bit, than rearranging your room. Something as simple as a fresh coat of paint can complete uplift your mood. However of course it's unreasonable to paint your room every time you feel a bit bored, so I've come up with some even easier steps which can make a huGe difference in your surroundings, and ultimately your life.i
1.Buy some plants!
Plants can literally freshen up your room! They're like little oxygen machines and can actually help you sleep better, as there will be more oxygen present in your room because they photosynthesise. No only that, but they add such a cute aesthetic! And if (like me) you're not the best as keeping plants alive, then opt for a desert plant, like my money tree. You only have to water them once every two weeks!
2. Display your perfumes
I'm sure you have so many bottles of perfume lying around your room, so why not display them? They're so pretty and can make your room look so chic, when displayed on a cute plate or tray. I even used an old mirror and I love the effect!
This is my favourite section of my room! I got this map from urban outfitters and displayed it behind my record player. You could even put a cork board behind your map and pinpoint all the places you've been or want to go!
4.DO UP SOME OLD FURNITURE
I found a huge mirror in my attic and decided to paint it white, and I loved how it turned out. Even though it's not perfect, I actually like it better that way- it's more unique and adds a vintage aspect to my room. If you don't have any old furniture lying about, go to a local vintage or antique shop and I'm sure you can find something which would look so cool if given a layer of paint.
4.Put up a shelf
This is a bit in the more difficult side, but if you're like me and had a big empty space on your wall, then a shelf is a great way to decorate it while giving you more storage room. I draped some bulb style fairy lights over mine and I think it completely transformed my room!
